My jewelry
is hand-fabricated using traditional metalsmith techniques, and although I tend to favor sterling
silver, I do occasionally incorporate 14kt gold, 14kt
gold-fill, 24kt gold, copper and brass.
In
many instances, I like
my designs to look time-worn -like the
antique look of vintage jewelry. This is created by using various patinas
to create a darkening effect on metal ranging from a deep black, to a silvery
gray, with variations of blues, greens and purples thrown in to add more depth
and brilliance to the piece.
To me, the greatest compliment is when someone incorporates one of my jewelry
designs into their own unique style. To know that the piece is being worn,
and that it puts a smile on someone's face whenever they wear it, makes me truly
happy.
